We've got everything from spine-tingling Halloween-themed workouts to pumpkin spice-infused fitness challenges. 🎃💪 Mark your calendars, gather your fitness tribe, and join us for a month of sweat, smiles, and unforgettable memories. |
Here is the calendar of events for OCTOBER 2023: 1. Who doesn’t love a challenge, and, even better, who doesn’t like blackout bingo!!! Pick up your bingo card at your gym and get to work. The goal is to “black out” your bingo card by completing the various Row-tober challenges during the month of October using the Concept 2 Rower.
To sign up, have a coach add your name to the board, grab your Bingo card, write your name on it, and leave it out for display, and you're good to go.
The deadline to sign up is Saturday, September 30th, by 10:00 a.m., and this challenge is entirely FREE for active members.
2. On October 17th, bring your friend to class so they can learn more about our program and try out a class. It is only for our Bootcamp classes - 9 am and 4:30 pm.
3. Join us for our 2nd Annual Boo's tasting event! We will have a selection of local craft beers ranging from ciders to stouts. Feel free to bring your spooky dish and come hang out!

$10 a person includes beer tasting, cocktails, and snacks- bring a spooky dish if you'd like!

Each bingo card is displayed at the gym to see each other’s progress throughout the month and promote healthy trash-talking. Once your board is blacked out and collected, you will enter our raffle to win Savoy Fitness Merchandise. Individual Prizes are given for the top scores.

Filipino American History Month is observed in October commemorating the arrival of the first Filipinos in modern day Morro Bay, California in October 1587. Filipino Americans are the second-largest Asian-American community in the United States. Their contributions to our country are exemplary and their achievements are recognized and celebrated throughout this designated month. Following years of campaigning and advocacy by both the civil society and organizations, the Filipino American National Historical Society established Filipino American History Month in 1992. 🏋️♀️🔥 October's Fitness Triple-Threat: Back Squat, Push-Ups, and Barbell Rows! 🔥🏋️♂️ Hey, Savoy Fitness fam! 🌟 Here are our Primary, Secondary, and gymnastics-based movements for October. 💪🎃 👉 Back Squat: Back squats are the cornerstone of lower body strength and stability. Expect stronger quads, hamstrings, and glutes by the end of this month, and we aim to capitalize on this from the work we put it in August.🦵💥 👉 Barbell Bent-Over Rows: Barbell bent-over rows are the key to a powerful upper back. Say goodbye to slouching and hello to impeccable posture! 💥💪 👉 Push-Ups: Push-ups are fantastic for building strength in the chest, shoulder, and triceps. We will focus on the different scaling options for this movement that allow you to perform the movement without knees on the ground 💪💥 |
October will kick off our final two strength cycles of the year! This month and next, we will see wave loading for two different sets of movements, and this month will revolve around the Power Clean, Bench Press, and Front Squat. We will also see a weekly gymnastics skill session to help continue the things we learned/ improved upon throughout the year! The overall conditioning through the end of the year will return to more consistent GPP (General Physical Preparedness)…this means we will see a more even split of time domains across the weeks.
