Due to the overwhelming excitement of members loving the addition of barbells in the first segment of Bootcamp in August, we have decided to continue that in September. The three barbell movements we will perform in September are the following: - Monday: Barbell Back Rack Reverse Lunge
- Wednesday: Barbell Hip Thrust
- Thursday: Barbell Push Press
Please note that the second segment of the class will always be our classic total body cardio workouts; however, we aim to spice things up with some new movements. |
Our commitment to providing you with the best possible experience at our gym is unwavering. We're excited to reveal we've given the gym floor bathroom a fresh and stylish makeover with new vinyl flooring. |
The environment you work out in plays a crucial role in your overall fitness journey. With this update, we've improved the aesthetics and enhanced the bathroom area's functionality and hygiene. |

Even though we will continue adding barbells in Bootcamp class for September, it is essential to remember that a longer preparation time comes with barbell movements. As coaches, we want to ensure you're warmed up and adequately educated on what loading you need for your unique fitness levels. This preparation time leaves little room for our 3rd class segment, known as finishers. |
Effective ASAP, finishers will be moved to Tuesdays and Fridays, our non barbell days. |
We want to give Coach Erika and her husband a HUGE shoutout for updating our announcement wall. |
An announcement wall can foster community by promoting shared experiences, events, and activities. It encourages interaction and engagement among members of the community. Erika's update now allows space for all our announcement flyers, lined up perfectly for a clean, professional look. Thank you, Erika! |
We have updated the monster and mini bands in our equipment arsenal. As you all know, bands can aid in creating more versatile workouts and can create targeted muscle engagement. |
You can hope to see a few new movements like the ones below in September alongside our regular banded monster walks, band pull-aparts, etc. |
Here is the calendar of events for SEPTEMBER 2023: - This September 19th, bring your friend to class so they can learn more about our program and try out a class. It is only for our Bootcamp classes - 9 am and 4:30 pm.
- Join us this Saturday, 9/16, at the Lou City Soccer game. Game starts at 7:30 pm.
- Lastly, we're thrilled to announce our partnership with Watsi from July - September 2023! Together, we can significantly impact the lives of those in need. Every check-in or review will help fund life-changing surgeries for people in need. #ChangeALife

International Dog Day encourages people to care for dogs as they deserve a good life. It celebrates all dogs, regardless of breed, size, and shape.

Let’s look back at August and review some of the highlights! Starting off…we have to mention just how smooth and successful the Oly cycle turned out! We started from the top of the movements and worked everyone down to the floor, so hopefully, even the newest athletes could walk away with some solid technical knowledge! We also saw a lot of PR's from our athletes. Moving into September…we will utilize it as a prep month before our final strength cycle(s) of the year starts in October! We will see the Squat/ Bench Press in our first cycle in Oct, so we will highlight those movements once a week in September to get more exposure. Since we didn't get much of that during the Oly Cycle, we will also be getting back to working on some heavier pulling from the ground (Deads, Sumo Deads, and Odd Objects). We will also work the Double Under in skill sessions throughout the month! The goal here is to increase our capacity to perform them adequately. The conditioning focus will also shift from anaerobic to aerobic, aka PURE GPP BURNERS (Cardio-based workouts). Lastly, we will tackle some fun benchmark retests this month. Buckle up…we are going to be busy this month. We are seeking more youth athletes for our 6:30 PM class on Tuesday and Thursday.
Our Sports Performance class is for youth athletes 13 - 18+, that increases their potential on and off the field or court.
Our Sports Performance Training at Savoy Fitness covers everything from basic movements to targeted athletic performance. Your child will learn correct exercise form, proper body mechanics, and safe strength-building techniques while also working on their core stability, reaction time, speed, and power.
